SAI360 acquires Lawcode for the US whistleblower hotline market

SAI360 acquires German-based Lawcode GmbH, bringing one of Europe's most advanced whistleblower platforms, Hintbox, to the US market. The acquisition is more than a strategic expansion: it marks the beginning of a new era for digital whistleblowing systems in the US, which must meet the highest standards of security, data protection and user-friendliness.

Modern whistleblower platform solution expands into the USA

SAI360, the leading provider of integrated risk and compliance software, has acquired Germany-based Lawcode GmbH, which developed Hintbox - a next-generation whistleblower and case management platform focused on the DACH region. This strategic acquisition is a major step towards modernizing the US whistleblower platform space.

This move brings a secure, feature-rich alternative to outdated hotline systems that have long dominated the US market. Hintbox's no-code software platform is known for its rapid deployment, multi-language capability, anonymous two-way communication and AI-powered workflows - all within a GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001-certified security framework.

"Most U.S. organizations still rely on hotline case management software tools that haven't evolved in decades," said Peter Granat, CEO of SAI360. "With this acquisition, we can introduce a proven, modern, mobile-first platform that provides a much better user experience at a much lower cost."

Hintbox was developed to meet the strict data protection standards of the GDPR, the EU Whistleblower Directive and the German Whistleblower Protection Act: "Security and compliance are in the DNA of the platform," says Dr. Ubbo Aßmus, co-founder and CEO of Lawcode GmbH. "We are bringing a European standard for data protection and confidentiality to the US market."

The acquisition is also a proactive response to the growing enactment of whistleblower laws around the world. While formal reporting channels are now mandatory in the EU, US regulators, such as the SEC and DOJ, are increasing expectations for anonymous, accessible reporting systems in sectors such as finance, healthcare and technology.

Edouard Didier, Managing Director at STG, the owner of SAI360, said: "This is an exciting opportunity that supports the long-term growth of SAI360 and Lawcode. SAI360 will bring Lawcode's modern compliance software and no-code approach to the US market and add value to Hintbox's successful expansion in the EU."

Lawcode GmbH will continue to operate independently in Europe under the Hintbox and Lawcode brands. The financial details of the transaction will not be disclosed.
