The European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has undergone significant changes over the past year and the next critical milestone is already here: Following the EU Commission’s recent simplification review in May 2026, the focus has shifted entirely to practical implementation. Starting December 30, 2026, relevant commodities such as timber, cocoa, coffee, and soy may only enter the EU market if they originate from deforestation-free supply chains. Micro and small enterprises have an extended transition period until the end of June 2027.
